Abstrak : This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Taking in research using a questionnaire and conducting interviews. The population in the study of SMP Jagat 'Arsy students and the number of samples in this study were 20 people. Sampling in this study was carried out by purposive sampling (taking breastfeeding samples for the purpose of the researcher). This study aims to describe the reading interest of SMP Jagat 'Arsy students towards non-fiction reading, especially novels. Based on the results of this study, it is known that the reading interest of SMP Jagat 'Arsy students is very high. Keywords: Novel, Character, Reading.
